ABOUT GREEN GROWTH

Green business models are growing increasing interest all over the world. In a number of countries there is a heated debate on how the financial system can be both profitable and eco-friendly. The old opposition between environment and profit is no longer valid. We are therefore witnessing a growing number of companies integrating environmental considerations in their strategies and hiring environmental strategists.

On the other hand, ‘green growth’ is easily conflated with ‘green-washing’; ie both politicians and business leaders are claiming ‘green’ while simultaneously continuing with business as usual – or brown growth.

This Green Growth Master of Management program, at Norwegian Business School, provides the necessary, research based and critical knowledge for implementing real green growth in practice. The program pays particular attention to execution of green business models and strategies. In order to succeed with green growth, a well thought through result measurement and reporting system is required, along with green innovations and new organizational structures to drive them. We want to show that green strategy is inspiring and motivating for employees as new types of values are created.
